The Governor of Puerto Rico is hereby authorized, in behalf and in representation of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, to enter into such agreements with the federal government as may be necessary for discontinuance by the federal government of certain responsibilities with respect to sources of ionizing radiation and the assumption thereof by the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, pursuant to the provisions of congressional Public Law No. 86-373, approved September 23, 1959.Any license issued by the federal government prior to the effective date of any such agreement under this section shall be considered valid and shall expire on the expiration date specified in such license, or ninety (90) days after the effective date of the agreement, whichever occurs earlier.
