The identity of and the information provided by the patients and their sexual contacts shall be of a confidential nature and may not be revealed by the Program except when the patient or the sexual contact so authorizes, or when the patient is a convict or a minor who has incurred the conduct described in § 576 of this title, whose diagnosis is positive or reactive to the Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), in which case the victim shall be notified of the laboratory test results. The spouse or consensual partner of a convict may be notified of the results of the tests to which said convict has been subjected to detect the presence of the Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) with the prior authorization of the latter.
