The duties and responsibilities of the Department of Health include, but are not limited to, the following:(a) Conduct an annual prevention campaign through the media in order to inform and educate the people about the importance of knowing risk factors, signs, and symptoms associated with lead poisoning.(b) Draft information material stating in detail the importance of regularly testing for lead poisoning children fount to be at risk or that may have been exposed to lead, in accordance with standards of care and the Department of Health, and make it available to pediatricians’ offices within ninety (90) days after the effective date of this act. Such information material shall be available in every regional office of the Department of Health.(c) The educational media campaign and the information material shall contain information to educate the people about the steps to be taken following confirmation of blood lead level.(d) Keep thorough records including data and statistics showing the development of the educational campaign.
