For any purposes requiring certified copies of birth certificates, the presentation of such certified copies of birth certificates issued by the Vital Statistics Registry of Puerto Rico shall suffice. For record purposes, it is hereby allowed to retain, keep under custody or keep on record photocopies, in electronic or digital format, of the certified copies of birth certificates, which copy retained shall attest that the same is a true and exact copy of the certified copy of the birth certificate.
