The Secretary of Health is hereby authorized to issue, in lieu of certified copies of the birth, death, and marriage certificates or registrations recorded in the old books of the Civil Registry of Puerto Rico and in the General Registry of Vital Statistics, reproductions or copies of documents as authorized in § 1239 of this title that he may make of such certificates or registrations, as well as of the birth, death and marriage certificates, and affidavits, or other documents presented and accepted upon recording such certificates or registrations.
