2504

(a) The Secretary of Health shall cooperate with local, federal and commonwealth agencies concerning traffic in controlled substances and in suppressing abuse of controlled substances. To this end he is authorized to:\n(1) Arrange for the exchange of information between governmental officials and employees concerning the use and abuse of controlled substances.\n(2) Cooperate in the institution and prosecution of judicial and administrative proceedings.\n(3) Conduct training programs for the personnel in charge of enforcing the laws on controlled substances.\n(4) Develop programs of eradication aimed at destroying wild or illicit growth of plant species from which controlled substances may be extracted.\n(b) When requested by the Secretary of Health or by the Police Superintendent, it shall be the duty of any agency or instrumentality of the Commonwealth to furnish assistance, including technical advice, for carrying out the functions established under this chapter; except that no such agency or instrumentality shall be required to inform the name of or other identifying information about a patient or research subject whose identity it has undertaken to keep confidential.\n(c) The
