To cremate human remains, at least forty-eight (48) hours must have elapsed from the time of death, except under the following circumstances:\n(1) When human remains show early signs of decomposition in the judgment of the director of the crematory.\n(2) When the Prosecutor’s Office has investigated the death before forty-eight (48) hours from the death have elapsed, in which case the prosecutor in charge of the investigation may request the authorization to conduct the cremation.\nHistory —Sept. 15, 2012, No. 258, § 9.06.
