The Registry shall be configured in the best manner to further the following objectives:(a) Identify the areas of the Vieques Municipality holding the highest incidence of congenital conditions.(b) Provide information that facilitates the identification of risk factors, causes and patterns of congenital conditions.(c) Evaluate the possible link of congenital conditions with a continuous exposure to environmental contamination in the Vieques Municipality.(d) Establish annual trends in the frequency and mortality of genetic conditions.(e) Stimulate development strategies and programs that help in preventing congenital conditions for Vieques infants.(f) Evaluate the impact of genetic conditions on the affected infants, their families and the Puerto Rico health system.
