A public corporation to be called the 'Cancer Center of the University of Puerto Rico', is hereby created. This Center shall be located in San Juan, Puerto Rico and shall operate as an independent entity separate from any other agency or instrumentality of the Government of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico; Provided, however, That during its existence it shall be affiliated, through agreements, to the University of Puerto Rico so as to achieve the purposes of this chapter.\nThe Center shall be directed by a Board of Directors which shall exercise all corporate powers, faculties, rights, attributions, prerogatives and duties, as provided in this chapter.\nHistory —Aug. 26, 2004, No. 230, § 2.
