The facilities of the Center are located at the Puerto Rico Medical Center. However, other facilities or units thereof may be established, at least through Telemedicine, in the districts within the municipalities of San Juan, Bayamón, Carolina, Ponce, Mayagüez, Arecibo, and Humacao. These facilities or units shall be able to provide telemedicine services with the personnel and technical equipment needed to manage the emergencies that may arise so that patients may receive primary treatment, and then be stabilized and transferred to the facilities of the Puerto Rico Medical Center, which shall serve the purpose of providing follow-up and more specialized treatment or rehabilitation.\nHistory —May 17, 2012, No. 91, § 2.
