The purposes of this chapter include authorizing the Medical Services Administration to, in turn, authorize and empower the Cerebrovascular Center of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean located at the Puerto Rico Medical Center to create its own administrative structure that shall allow it to streamline specialized recruitment process, billing and collection, and the procurement of the necessary equipment and materials. Furthermore, the Center, attached to the Puerto Rico Medical Services Administration, may enter into agreements and memoranda of understanding with state and federal agencies, state and federal educational entities, public instrumentalities and entities, municipalities, and for-profit and nonprofit private entities so as to achieve greater efficiency, obtain funding, and improve access to the promoted services.\nHistory —May 17, 2012, No. 91, § 3.
