The Center shall promote the establishment of other facilities or subdivisions thereof outside the Metropolitan Area in the districts within the municipalities of San Juan, Bayamón, Carolina, Ponce, Mayagüez, Arecibo, and Humacao. The facilities of the Center to be created shall provide services twenty-four (24) hours a day to the extent that the resources and facilities allow. They may include emergency rooms for acute, intensive, and intermediate treatment; prevention and rehabilitation units; radiosurgery; interventional radiology and neurovascular and peripheral vascular surgery with updated instruments; and research and outpatient services, among other related and similar services.
