(a) Attending purveyor. — Means: (1) the pediatrician or any other physician who attends the newborn, and (2) the obstetrician, gynecologist or nurse who assisted the mother.\n(b) Insurer. — Means the natural or juridical person that is engaged in contracting insurance as defined in § 105 of Title 26; any reciprocal insurance association, a body of Lloyd’s; a mutual association; any program created by virtue of Title XIX of the 'Social Security Act', the health services organizations licensed under Chapter XIX of the Insurance Code of Puerto Rico, or any profitable or non profitable public or private entity engaged in the business of granting insurance contracts.\nHistory —Aug. 15, 1999, No. 248, § 2.
