Under this chapter, the Secretary shall have the following functions and powers:\n(a) To advise the Governor of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the Legislature when formulating and implementing the public policy relative to a medical emergency system in Puerto Rico.\n(b) To coordinate with the Executive Director in terms of the assignment of personnel from the Department of Health to the Medical Emergency Corps and vice versa on the basis of criteria which propitiate the most efficient use of human resources, without affecting the functions entrusted by law to the Medical Emergency Corps.\n(c) To approve and promulgate jointly with the Executive Director the regulations that are to govern medical emergency services in Puerto Rico and ensure compliance therewith.\nHistory —Sept. 30, 2004, No. 539, § 7.
