For the purposes of this subchapter, except where the context indicates otherwise, the following terms shall have the meaning stated below:\n(1) Defibrillation. — Means the emergency treatment for the management of ventricular fibrillation or cardiac arrest.\n(2) Automated external defibrillator. — Means the portable device used to electrically stimulate a fibrillating heart. It consists of a two (2)-electrode mechanism that is directly applied on the person’s thorax, through which an electrical shock with special characteristics is delivered, and, if applied shortly after a cardiac arrest, it would be highly likely that it will restore the lost normal heart rhythm.\n(3) Private establishments. — Means those places where automated external defibrillators shall be installed according to the capacity of the place for the influx or permanence of persons, including but not limited to the following:\n(a) Private schools.\n(b) Stadiums and private sports centers with a capacity of more than five hundred (500) persons shall have at least one (1) automated external defibrillator.\n(c) Private show and entertainment establishments with a capacity of more than five hundred (500) persons
