Whenever used in §§ 431—443a and 446—456 of this title:Employment certificate.— Shall mean a certificate issued by an officer duly authorized by the Secretary of Labor and Human Resources allowing the employment of a minor pursuant to the provisions of §§ 431—443a and 446—456 of this title.Certificate of age.— Shall mean a certificate issued by request of any person over eighteen (18) years of age, attesting to the date of birth and age of the petitioner.Minor.— Shall mean any child of either sex under eighteen (18) years of age.Employer.— Shall mean any natural or [juridical] person, whether principal or agent, who employs a minor.Gainful occupation.— Includes all work and employment in factories, mills, sugarcane factories (centrales), machine shops, establishments, any place where there is a mechanical factory or enterprise; warehouses, stores, establishments and places where mercantile operations are carried out; farms, plantations, estates or any other type of place devoted to agriculture, horticulture or grazing; and in every mining or fishing undertaking.
