Within its jurisdictional duties, the municipality is hereby empowered to adopt, through an ordinance, those rules and regulations it deems pertinent and necessary for the adequate planning, direction, and supervision of the centers created under the provisions of this chapter, insofar as such rules and regulations are compatible with those already adopted for similar purposes by the Department of the Family or the Department of Education, as the case may be.
