Every candidate to be an legislature member shall meet the following requirements on the date he/she takes office:\n(a) Know how to read and write.\n(b) Be domiciled in, and be a qualified elector of the corresponding municipality.\n(c) Be a citizen of the United States and of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.\n(d) Have not been convicted of a felony nor a misdemeanor that implies moral turpitude.\n(e) Have not been removed from office or employment for improper conduct in the performance of his/her duties.\n(f) Have not been found mentally disabled by a court of competent jurisdiction.\n(g) Be eighteen (18) years of age or over.\n(h) No person shall hold office as a municipal legislature member for more than three terms, whether consecutive or not.\nHistory —Aug. 30, 1991, No. 81, § 4.002; June 29, 1995, No. 70, § 2.
