The Office of the Commissioner of Municipal Affairs of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico is hereby created. This Office shall have, among other duties provided in this subtitle, the main responsibility of advising and approving regulations for purposes of ensuring the application of the generally accepted accounting principles, compliance with the standards of the Office of the Comptroller of Puerto Rico and the correction of practices that constitute sources of administrative and/or accounting irregularities.\nHistory —Aug. 30, 1991, No. 81, § 19.001; July 24, 1998, No. 169, § 8; Sept. 7, 2004, No. 258, § 41.
