Any person who allegedly claims to be entitled to unclaimed funds which have been paid to the Commissioner may present a claim before the Commissioner within the term of one (1) year reckoning from the date of the delivery to the Commissioner of said unclaimed funds. The above term of expiration, in case of minors, shall be reckoned from the date they may have attained the age of twenty-one years. Upon previous verification of the right of the claimant by the Commissioner, the Secretary of the Treasury is hereby authorized to reinstate such funds or the corresponding part thereof to said persons. Any unclaimed funds within the term herein established shall pass to be the property of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.\nHistory —Ins. Code, added as § 26.080 on May 30, 1970, No. 61, p. 159.
