Every natural or juridical person who violates the provisions of this chapter or of any regulation or resolution adopted and approved in accordance therewith or in accordance with §§ 62 et seq. and 71 et seq. of this title and the regulations adopted thereunder, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction, shall be punished with a fine that shall not exceed five hundred dollars ($500) or imprisonment for a term not greater than six (6) months, or both penalties at the court’s discretion. Each day that the violation continues to exist shall be deemed a separate violation.In the case of an infraction of this chapter or the regulations or resolutions and approvals thereunder, the Police Corps of Puerto Rico or any official of the Permit Management Office or the Planning Board may file the corresponding charges. The Permit Management Office or the Planning Board, on their own initiative, shall prevent such violation through an injunction or through any other adequate recourse or procedure in any court of competent jurisdiction.
