For the purposes of §§ 1020a—1020f of this title, the following terms shall have the meaning expressed below:(a) Registry. — Shall refer to the Contractors Registry.(b) Contractor. — Means a natural or juridical person who submits a construction proposal or bid, administers, directs or in any other manner, directly or indirectly, takes control of construction works, as defined in this chapter, or who claims to do so. This term also includes subcontractors or any other specialized contractor and any person engaged in the construction industry.(c) Construction. — Means an alteration, demolition, restoration, repair, structure raising, equipment and materials installation and improvements of any type of construction work. It includes, but is not limited to, the installation and repair of utilities and the treatment of roofs to correct leakage.(d) Construction work. — Means works such as housing, lot and landscape improvement, among others, whether undertaken in their totality or in part.
