Every ship’s captain subject to pilot service as provided in this chapter, who brings in or takes out a ship from a port, or who moves, changes or shifts berth after it has been anchored or has come alongside in the port, without using a pilot therefor and without a written permission from the Authority for not using a pilot for such specific purpose, shall incur, for each violation, in a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for a maximum term of two (2) years or by a maximum fine of ten thousand dollars ($10,000) or by both penalties.\nHistory —June 28, 1968, No. 151, p. 459, § 4, art. 4.18, eff. 90 days after June 28, 1968.
