In coordination with the Executive Director, the Director shall exercise the following functions, among others:\n(a) Coordinate with other government and private entities the offering of short courses and conferences on artisanry production techniques, the use of different materials in the many artisanry fields, the improvement of the products’ quality, the reduction of costs and other technical aspects such as those regarding the managerial operation of workshops, and how to make known the Puerto Rican cultural tradition. In order to help the artisans, these courses shall also be offered in the regional offices of the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture and/or in the cultural centers of each town.\n(b) Administer the Artisanry Incentives Program, to provide tools, equipment or instruments for the artisans’ use.\n(c) Facilitate the marketing and sale of the artisans’ products in exhibitions, fairs and other similar activities.\n(d) Make the local artisanry production known through conferences and presentations.\n(e) Stimulate the formation of artisan associations and to foster the creation and development of artisan cooperatives with the collaboration of the Cooperative Development rences and presentations.\n(e) Stimulate the formation of artisan associations and to foster the creation and development of artisan cooperatives with the collaboration of the Cooperative Development Administration.\n(f) Submit an annual report to the Governor, the Legislature and the Board, through the Economic Development Administrator, on the activities and achievements of the Program.\nHistory —Aug. 11, 1995, No. 166, § 8; Sept. 21, 2007, No. 124, § 5.
