(1) Definitions.— For purposes of this section, the following terms and phrases shall have the meaning stated hereinbelow:(a) Puerto Rico Artisan Trail.— Shall mean the group of places devoted to the sale of Puerto Rican handcrafts strategically and systematically linked by a common route that passes through participating municipalities.(b) Handcrafts.— Shall mean art manufactured or produced in Puerto Rico by a natural person who resides in the Island, through artistic, rustic, and manual means, whose themes are inspired in the different aspects of culture, such as our society’s history, fauna, flora, symbols, traditions, and customs.(2) The Puerto Rico Tourism Company is hereby directed and empowered to identify and establish a tourist trail that includes, as a main attraction, Puerto Rican handcraft shops or stores and, as an alternative for tourists from abroad, a transportation system featuring tour guides.(3) It shall be the public policy of the Government of Puerto Rico, through the Puerto Rico Tourism Company, in coordination with other pertinent government agencies, to promote and foster the 'Puerto Rico Artisan Trail' as an option, not only for tourists, but also for
