Any official or employee of the Government of Puerto Rico, or of any instrumentality or public corporation established by the Legislature of Puerto Rico, who belongs to any pension or retirement plan established by the Legislature of Puerto Rico, and who is transferred or appointed to a position in the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority, shall be entitled to select, within a period of six months following the date of his employment in said Authority, one of the two alternatives provided in § 218 of this title.
