Every customer receiving any electric power or water and/or sewer service credit, special rate, grant, or subsidy granted under this chapter or any other present or future law or regulations, shall be required to notify PREPA or PRASA, as the case may be, of any change in the information or profile by virtue of which the credit, special rate, grant, or subsidy was granted or of the loss of eligibility to receive such credit, special rate, grant, or subsidy. Said customer shall have thirty (30) days from the time of the change in the information or profile or from his/her loss of eligibility to notify PREPA or PRASA, as the case may be, of such change or loss of eligibility. Said notification may be made by telephone, letter, personally at the commercial office, or on the webpage of the public corporation.Any customer who fails to notify the loss of eligibility within the term provided herein and continues to enjoy such benefit may be convicted of fraud and perjury, as classified under the Penal Code of Puerto Rico, or of any other applicable offense classified under special legislation.
