Any person who aspires to practice the profession of speech-language pathologist or audiologist shall, in addition to complying with the requirements established in § 3112 of this title:\n(1) Have a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from a university accredited by the Council on Higher Education if the same operates in Puerto Rico, or in an institution recognized by a national accrediting body if it is located in any of the states of the United States of America, or recognized by the Board if the same is located in another country.\n(2) Have obtained a master’s degree or doctorate in speech-language pathology or audiology, as may be applicable, in a school accredited by the Council on Higher Education if the same operates in Puerto Rico, or in an institution recognized by the Board if the same is located in any of the states of the United States, the District of Columbia or in another country. Those professionals who, on or before the 1978-79 academic year, have obtained a master’s degree in science with a major in Rehabilitation of the Deaf shall be included in the definition of speech-language pathologist as described in § 3102 of this title.
