The Board shall establish, through regulations, the requirements for acceptance to the revalidation examination, that will include the basic sciences. The candidate must include a transcript of credits that attests to his approval of a professional education that qualifies him to practice as a respiratory care technician, as established by the Board, with an academic point average of no less than two points (2.0) or its equivalent. The examination shall be offered at least two (2) times a year and must include a theory and a practical examination on the basic disciplines and sciences of respiratory care determined by the Board, and which are necessary to ascertain the candidate’s capacity.\nThe Board may use the National Board of Respiratory Therapy (Junta Nacional de Terapia Respiratoria) theoretical examination.\nAny candidate who does not receive a passing grade in the revalidation examination the first time shall have five (5) additional opportunities to take the examination after payment of the corresponding fees. Notwithstanding the above, if the candidate does not receive a passing grade in the Board’s examination the third time, he must complete a refresher course which
