Every educational institution that offers preparatory emergency medical courses at the paramedic and basic levels, shall meet the following requirements in order for their graduates to be declared eligible to take the emergency medical technician revalidation examination:\n(a) Comply with the curricula established by the U.S. Department of Transportation for the preparatory courses at paramedic and basic emergency medical technician levels.\n(b) The educational institution shall have the necessary specialized equipment to offer the courses adequately.\n(c) The institution shall have a medical advisor for the emergency medical program. This advisor shall meet the requirements established in the definition of medical control in § 3454 of this title.\n(d) Every clinical or field practice performed by the students in the emergency medical program of an educational institution shall be held in duly licensed and certified medical institutions or ambulance services. Furthermore, this practice shall be supervised by instructors who hold an emergency medical technician’s license.\nHistory —Dec. 25, 2002, No. 310, § 8.
