Every person who, without being duly authorized to practice the profession as provided by Act No. 31 of 1932 or who during the suspension of his license practices as a chemist, advertises himself as such, or tries to pass himself off as a practicing chemist shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, he shall be fined not less than one hundred [dollars] ($100) or more than three hundred dollars ($300) or shall be imprisoned for not less than two (2) nor more than six (6) months, or shall suffer both penalties.
