All licensed optometrists and certified optometrists in Puerto Rico shall take continuing education courses concerning the use and application of scientific, technical and clinical advances in the care of the vision, eyes or their adnexa. No courses offered by entities that are not duly authorized by the Board as purveyors of continuing education, shall be accepted. Any course offered and taken shall be subject to approval by the Board.All certified optometrists shall take a course within three (3) years of being certified, as part of their continuing education, on the subject of allergic reactions that may be caused by the use of cycloplegic agents.
