Any person who violates any of the provisions of §§ 793—805 of this title shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, punished by a fine of not less than one hundred [dollars] ($100) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500) or by imprisonment in jail for a minimum term of three (3) months or a maximum term of one (1) year, or by both penalties, [at] the discretion of the court.
