The Board shall establish the requirements and mechanisms necessary to recertify professionals every three (3) years, on the basis of continuing education. The Board shall also provide for the certification of specialties, when applicable, provided that up to a maximum of ten (10) credit hours may be granted per recertification period for medical advisor or expert witness services provided to the Medical Discipline and Licensure Board, Courts of Justice, and other agencies of the Government of Puerto Rico.The procedure for that which is provided herein shall be determined by regulations. This recertification procedure shall be staggered and efficient. Provided, That the recertification procedure shall not require the presence of the physician and the same may be processed by mail or any other electronic means.
