A Board of Examiners of Interior Designer-Decorators is hereby created, attached to the Division of Board of Examiners of the Department of State, composed of five (5) members. Besides the other requirements established in § 2235 of this title, each member of the Board must have a good reputation, hold an interior designer or decorator’s diploma, and practice the profession in Puerto Rico. No member of the Board shall interfere with the regulated activity, through his/her position in any way that directly or indirectly monopolizes the activities of the profession.\nThe members of the Board shall be appointed by [the] Governor of Puerto Rico with the advice and consent of the Senate of Puerto Rico.\nInitially, the members of the Board shall be appointed as follows: one (1) member for the term of one (1) year; two (2) for a term of two (2) years; one (1) for a term of three (3) years; and one (1) for the term of four (4) years. Upon the expiration of such initial terms, appointments shall be made for four (4) -year terms.\nNo member of the Board shall be appointed for more than two (2) consecutive terms.\nThe Governor shall designate the Chairperson of the Board.

The Chairperson shall sign every official document issued by the Board of Examiners. The Board shall meet as many times as needed to perform its functions, upon prior summons from the Chairperson.\nThe Board shall have an official seal. Each member of the Board, including public officials or employees, shall be entitled to per diems of fifty dollars ($50) for each day or part thereof that they attend meetings or sessions of the Board, as well as reimbursement for the traveling expenses [incurred], pursuant to the regulations of the Secretary of the Treasury applicable
