(a) Any person who violates any provision of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, punished by a fine of not less than fifty dollars ($50) or more than two hundred and fifty dollars ($250), or by imprisonment in jail for a period of not less than thirty (30) days or more than ninety (90) days, or both penalties, in the discretion of the court. For the second and subsequent convictions he shall be punished by a fine of not less than one hundred dollars ($100) or more than five hundred dollars ($500), or by imprisonment in jail for a period of not less than ninety (90) days or more than six (6) months, or both penalties, in the discretion of the court.\nHistory —May 27, 1976, No. 58, p. 167, § 10, eff. 90 days after May 27, 1976.
