Any person who directly or indirectly engages himself in the practice of the optical profession without holding the corresponding license shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and punished by imprisonment in jail for a term of not more than one (1) month or by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars ($500), or both penalties in the discretion of the court; Provided, That in case of recidivism the offense shall entail a minimum of thirty (30) days in jail in addition to the seizure of all the instruments and furniture used in the illegal practice of optics.\nHistory —June 3, 1976, No. 152, p. 448, § 10, renumbered as § 11 on Sept. 1, 1990, No. 82, p. 484, § 9.
