All treatment plants and/or systems for drinking water and used water, whether public or private, must operate under the direct supervision of one (1) operator certified through a license for the corresponding class and category or higher.\nThe Environmental Quality Board or the Department of Health, as the case may be, shall have the authority to determine, with the advice of the Board, the number and category of certified operators required to have available to tend to each plant and/or system or group of plants for drinking water and used water, based on the categories established and as required by the degree of the operation, maintenance, and conservation of said plants or systems.\nHistory —July 13, 1978, No. 53, p. 528, § 7; Jan. 16, 2002, No. 29, § 7.
