The office of Ombudsman shall only be held by a person of legal age, who has resided in Puerto Rico for five (5) years preceding the date of his/her appointment and who also enjoys recognized professional capacity and moral probity and is knowledgeable and experienced in the field of public administration and government undertakings.The Ombudsman shall earn an annual salary equal to seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000), or equal to that of a judge of the Circuit Court of Appeals, whichever is greater.
