Every hardware store and retail store which sells abrasive materials which may be used to remove paint shall post a conspicuous sign, provided by the department of health, of sufficient size with large enough lettering to be easily seen and read, in each area of the store where abrasive materials are displayed for sale which contains the following: Use of abrasive material (sandpaper, steel wool, drill disks and pads, etc.) in your home to remove paint may increase the risk of childhood lead poisoning.
