(a) The administrator of the division of motor vehicles shall, upon presentation of a United States Department of Defense (DD) FORM 214 or other acceptable documentation of military service and verification of an honorable discharge, issue a motor vehicle operator’s license or commercial driver’s license to the presenter that is clearly marked 'veteran.' (b) The presentment of an operator’s license marked 'veteran' shall have the same validity in retail establishments as the presentment of a certified, government-issued military identification card as eligibility for preferential treatment.
