The operator of any vehicle upon a highway within this state, upon the stopping of the vehicle by any law enforcement or police officer, shall, at any time from a half-hour after sunset to a half-hour before sunrise, display and operate its interior lights until such time as the officer allows the vehicle to continue in its operation.
