§ 31-6-14

(a) Whenever any application to the division of motor vehicles is accompanied by any fee as required by law, and the application is refused or rejected, the fee shall be returned to the applicant. (b) Whenever the division of motor vehicles, through error collects any fee not required to be paid the fee shall be refunded to the person paying it upon application made within one year after the date of the payment. The one year period for refund may be extended at the discretion of the administrator of the division of motor vehicles.
