(a) Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not exceeding five hundred dollars ($500) or imprisoned for a term not exceeding one year, or shall be so fined and imprisoned. (b) For the purposes of this chapter, each day during which any violation shall occur shall constitute a separate and distinct offense.
