§ 42-28-1-3

(a) Advancement to each of the incentive salary steps shall be based on a point system as set forth in § 42-28.1-4 and shall be accomplished as follows: Incentive Increase above Points Step Basic Salary Acquired 1 $1,000 30 2 $2,000 Associate Degree in Law Enforcement 3 $3,000 Bachelor’s Degree in Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice 4 $3,500 Juris Doctor, Masters Degree in Law Enforcement provided the participant has achieved a Bachelor’s Degree in Law Enforcement, criminal justice, or law (b) Except that the state fire marshal and the deputy state fire marshals may be granted credit for a degree with a concentration in fire science.
