When an application is submitted to the division of professional regulation for a license to practice occupational therapy in Rhode Island, the applicant shall pay a nonrefundable fee to the general treasurer. A licensee shall submit a biennial renewal fee with a renewal application on or before the thirty-first (31st) day of March of each even year pursuant to the requirements of § 5-40.1-12(a)(2), and any person who allows his or her license to lapse by failing to renew it in the prescribed manner shall pay an additional fee as referred to in § 5-40.1-12(a)(5).
