Actions for medical expenses incurred by a minor, whether the minor or the minor’s parents or guardian has expended the sums, which medical expenses were incurred as the result of the negligence of a third party, shall be commenced and sued upon within three (3) years next after the minor reaches the age of eighteen (18) years, and not after.
