§ 2-3-105

(A) The duties of the Sergeants at Arms and Directors of Security of the respective Houses or the Assistant Sergeant at Arms, or both, are: (1) as provided by law; (2) as provided by the Rules of the respective Houses; (3) the security of personnel and property of the respective Houses; and (4) those designated by the President of the Senate or the Speaker of the House of Representatives. (B) The Sergeants at Arms and Directors of Security of the respective Houses or the Assistant Sergeant at Arms, or both, shall meet and escort visitors in and about their respective bodies and must be, during the hours of duty, dressed in a distinctive manner, so as to be easily identified as Sergeants at Arms and Directors of Security of the respective Houses.
