(A) Brigadier General selection board-As required by Federal Personnel Acts, a board must be established by the Governor for the purpose of selecting qualified officers of the next lower grade to fill brigadier general officer vacancies in the South Carolina Army National Guard. The board shall consist of three general officers; composed of the Adjutant General and the active general officers of the South Carolina Army National Guard and, if necessary, the number of recently retired active general officers of the South Carolina Army National Guard necessary to constitute the board. (B) Colonels-As required by Federal Personnel Acts, a board must be established by the Adjutant General for the purpose of selecting qualified officers of the next lower grade to fill colonel vacancies in the South Carolina Army National Guard. This board shall consist of the five senior officers of the South Carolina Army National Guard, to include not over one officer from the state headquarters or one professional officer.
