§ 40-29-270

A defect must be remedied within thirty days of receipt of the written notification of the warranty claim, unless additional time is granted by the board. Defects which constitute an imminent safety hazard to life and health must be remedied within five working days of receipt of the written notification of the warranty claim. An imminent safety hazard to life and health includes, but is not limited to: (1) inadequate heating in freezing weather; (2) failure of sanitary facilities; (3) electrical shock; (4) leaking gas; or (5) major structural failure. The board may suspend this five-day time period in the event of widespread defects or damage resulting from adverse weather conditions or other natural catastrophes.
